Google moving out of GooglePlex
Just read a story about google being in the process of moving to a new office building. I don't know about you, but I've been the unlucky manager having to deal with moving operations to a new facility, and the massive problems it causes for the IT department are a huge headache. Now, I'm not saying that this necessarily has anything to do with all the google problems lately, but it is something that made me go hmmmm... I know when I had to deal with an IT move, it meant using most of my resources to deal with it - making sure nothing went wrong. Certainly some of the other daily problems got put aside for a bit, while the big move was planned and implemented. I realize google has datacenters all over the world, and so this move might have nothing to do with them. Still, it is just one more problem that google has had to deal with during this last quagmire of changes. Who knows...maybe it was just one problem too many.
