Google Labs Launches News Alerts
A new beta from Google Labs.
I spotted the following at ResourceShelf.( http://www.resourceshelf.com)
More New Stuff from Google: "News Alerts"

The News Alerts (BETA) is listed at Google Labs where the company "experiments" with new technology. As I've said many times you've got to hand it to them for always expanding their services. When the history of Google is written I think the most interesting chapters will be on how they market themselves.
Google's News Alert service is far from revolutionary. Actually, they're playing catch-up. E-Mail news alerts have been available for many years from Yahoo, Marketwatch.Com, The New York Times, and MANY other news organizations. Google's News Alert service is easy to use. Simply enter your keywords and an email address. Advanced syntax allows you to limit to the source (source), words in the title or headline (intitle) and OR terms together. You can choose to have alerts delivered immediately or once a day. You'll then be sent a verification email. Click the link and you're up and running. A bit more info is available on the News Alert FAQ including how to cancel an alert.
