Hi anandcpr,
What Seo.Rick said is right, it really depends on your subject, but the biggest advantage to owning the additional .tld's is to stop anybody else from buying them and competing (a common event if your domain becomes "big news")! Personally I wouldn't bother but - if you do buy them - about the only thing you can really do is to forward them to your main site (of course you could create 3 sites about the same thing but that would just divide up your efforts and backlinks; normally you would be far better off putting all 3 sites on the main domain).
