Blogger is eliminating its paid version
I wonder why Google is doing this??? Any ideas?
CNET Exerpt "Google-owned Web log-creation site Blogger is eliminating its paid version and folding premium functions into its free service, bucking a trend toward making people pay for Web site extras. " Maybe to start running Adsense or Adwords on the service. Can't really expect a user to put up with the ads if they are paying for the service. Or Google started smoking crack. -PK |

I use Livejournal. Open source and easy on the eyes.
I still think Google has something up their sleeves. Ads most likely but not 100% sure. -PK |

It may just be, that they didn't get the traffic they expected, and thus they have to change their marketing to develop a stronger user base. (IOW, they might make it free for a while...(

I dont think Blogger is suffering from any traffic woes. 780 on alexa (I know not that accurate), free advertising via the toolbar, and already a branded and known website.
I believe it to do with marketing. It's Google we are talking about. Always marketing marketing marketing. You dont remove profit unless it's to make more. -PK |
