Woah! Extremely odd payout...

Well something really odd just happend with my Adsense account. I recently picked up a few good traffic domains, and setup some pages with Adsense.

From the Friday I set up, to the sunday, I was getting great impressions and a great CTR (25%-35%) but come Monday, Dec. 1st I get the SAME amount of impressions and clicks, but my pay is $38! I'd only been averaging $10 the first 3 days, and now with the same # of clicks, the pay is almost tripled!!!

I'm kind of scared, kind of excited, really just wondering what the hell happend. I also noticed a few hours before the numbers changed that my site had been paid a visit by a URL (trakker.corp.google.com something something.)
I hope nobody is abusing the clicks. Any explanation as to why my pay jumped with the same amount of clicks?

Thanks

Hi Insomnia,

From my undertanding of adsense you are not paid the same amount per click. The adword advertisers bid on the amount they will pay and depending on the competing ads displayed you get a portion of the amount that Google receives for that particular click.

Count you lucky stars. I also believe that as part of the agreement with Adsense you are not to refer to the amount you make. They want to control everthing.

It's also possible that after a few days and re-spidering, your ads are much more targetted. Turingia is right, of course, the clicks don't always pay the same .. some ads will pay much more than others.

Gringo.

There is also the 'FLORIDA' crash that I have not seen talked about in these forums. The florida crash is a total belly up on the part of google in the searches of certain categories. This could be the cause that your position on google has gone up.
