Risking your Adwords account
I am going to do a little bit of travelling in the near future and want to manage my Adwords and Adsense accounts using an internet cafe. My worry is, that if I do this then I may end up using the same IP address as someone else who has an Adwords/Adsense account. From posts I have read, if you log into Adwords/Adsense using the same IP address, Google will link the sites and close your account, thinking you are trying to have multiple accounts.
Anybody else come across this or had problems? Is it the same situation if your ISP has dynamic IP addresses that are allocated randomly? i.e. is the only safe way to have an ISP with a static IP address allocated to you and you only? Steve |

I have never heard this before and will be a bit of enlightenment for me if there is any fact to it. I will say though that I routinely sign into my adwords account at other peoples houses who also have Adwords (I know because I set them up for them) and I have never had a problem.
I can't believe that you would have that issue at an internet cafe seeing as how it would be fairly common for two people to sign into their accounts on the same IP (Over a big timeframe) I don't believe this but I have been wrong so many times |

Do a search on this forum and others on multiple accounts and you will see how people have been burned by using the same IP address.

I think that is is fairly common for two people or more in the same household to have their own adsense account - or one company to manage multiple websites that are own by multiple other companies, each with their own adsense account. I know of a single computer that has several different adsense accounts checked in succession on it regularly.

Steve,
My searching skills arent what they used to be. I havent been able to find other posts in SEOChat confirming this theory. Can you post a link to them? |

I hope it is a theory that is not true. I just wanted to find out others experience so I don't get penalised.
An example link (sorry, not from this forum): http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum81/3913.htm |

I'm sure Google is smart enough to realize that if you have always logged in from an IP from the USA and sudenly you start logging in from an IP in Taiwan, that you are traveling.
I can't see any reason for Google to penalize you for this.
