Really difficult with adwords
I just don't get it.
How to improve CTR? I've tried experimenting several things and I am reaching 250 impressions with not even a single click. Is there anything specific to be done to improve CTR? It's really frustrating.. |

I've gone longer. Not that it's something to brag about. ;-)
It's really a mix of the right colors, right size, right placement and right page content that gives a large numbers of clicks. Experiment but you'll need at least 1000 impressions before you call what you're doing a failure. |

write an effective ad. copy and bid high enough so that you are within top three ads. that will do

Effective Keywords and Negatives
I have found that it always makes good sense to have small defined ad groups with focused ad text.
The resulting landing page should also have the keyword phrase/query that the user searched for displayed in a highly visible position. Many would argue that it is important to 'catch all actions' by filling your campaigns with as many keyword as possible - this is true - but requires a daily management of the zero imps and clicks values into other ad groups within your campaign. Improve your ctr
Try placing yourself in rank 4-6.
Keep your eyes on your campaign. Try writin very specific ads for your keywords. |

you need more than just 250 impressions. I would try to see what other competitors are doing and maybe adjusting your listing a little to see if it was your description or title.

Yep! I tried for around 2000 impressions and got only one click for a keyword. This was a very very competitive keyword. After that when I tried with a non-competitive keyword, I could get around 1.4% CTR. There is also some learning curve involved with Adwords. It needed some reading of how to create ads, of which I used the following
But there was nil sales ofcourse. Spending a $100 went waste. I'll probably experiment next month with a different set of keywords, just to learn it more. I am told that wordtracker paid package is good to analyse keywords. But I am afraid to put that much money before I learn to get decent CTR by writing proper ads.. |
