There is not a query parameter to show ads for a certain area. However, if you have an AdWords account you can use the Ad Diagnostic Tool to view a sample of what ads will show for a particular query at a particular geographical location or IP address.

Ummmm, no Mr Spammer, the solution is to use what Google provides, not some shoddy self promoting blogger. Again, www.google.com/adpreview You can search Ads for any location using the dropdowns provided. In fact this tool should ALWAYS be used as it will not accrue impressions against your Ads. You must be logged in with a Google Account to see the dropdowns to select location. Last edited by goffel : March 30th, 2008 at 04:30 AM. |

Unfortunately with Yahoo I believe the only way is to use a proxy server. I hope to be corrected since I'd love a simpler solution, however Yahoo reps have told me in the past that a proxy server is the only solution. Second to that, I hope Y! is going to make an app like Adwords Editor! Been waiting a long time |

:-) sorry for this... I won't go into details, but I was writing a reply for the 3rd time from my Iphone (the 2 first times couldn't be saved) and I was too lazy to write it again... nevermind... my apologize to the moderators.
Of course I completely agree with you all when you advise to use AdPreview. How many times I heard some of my bosses saying: "but where are our ads???" or "we are only at the 6th rank" etc... Always the same reply: "please use AdPreview... Google can identify our login IP addresses and... " etc etc... So yeah please use AdPreview. But Varshakotru, if you want to know specific parameters, here are some of them: &ip= (Simulates an IP address) &gl= (Specifies a country code. i.e. CA, DE, JP, etc.) &gr= (Specifies a region code. i.e. US-CA for California) &gc= (Specifies a city code) &gcs= (Specifies a city name, must use gr & valid city. i.e. Palo%20Alto) &gll= (Specifies lat & long in microdegrees. i.e. 37304332,-121393872) &gpc= (Specifies postal code in US) So you can append these parameters to the Google query string and don't forget to add the "AdPreview" parameter: &adtest=on For example, if you want to check ads displaying for "car dealers" when searched from Mankato, Minnesota: google.com/search?adtest=on&btnG=Search&gl=US&hl=en&host=google.com&gpc=56001&q=car+dealers You'll notice the regional ads targeting Minnessota and Mankato, etc. Mick |
