Has anyone noticed any 'untitled' adwords appearing with no link? The URL is displayed but without the hyperlink, so obviously no pay per click but nice exposure.
Using this method you could bid anything you want and when the CTR goes too low, just amend the ad. All for free... |

I've no idea how it works, just that there is no blue title (source code just shows another <br>) and no hyperlink - Just the URL displayed under the description text.
Does anyone have a clue what's going on? |

Ok, sussed it... Norton Firewall blocks certain titles.
Search on "car leasing" gets some of these blanks (for the UK anyway). One result was filtered out because it said "Topless Motoring for 2 Years" - Topless could trigger the filter. However, another one was filtered out, but all it said was "Car Leasing" - No dodgy words there??? Worth considering any titles in your adwords with the popularity of these home filter/firewall programs though... |

Norton internet products block numerous ads, including Google, Commission Junction, Linkshare and many, many more. They do this by default, without letting the user of the product(s) make the choice, they make the choice for the user. Their software strips the code out of websites that contains anything listed in the ad blocking part of the software, whether it's a text link, a banner ad, or even anything that might be the same size as a banner ad (a company logo or something).
