New user to Google Adsense

Hi,

Last night I decided to give adsense ago as I want to boost the money I generate from my website. I have just checked my report and for one click I appear to have earnt $1.80, can this be true for one click ??

I have had a total of 3 click so far & earnt $2.71, seems quite alot from what ive read on other threads.

Looks like you're in the right business

Some types of clicks (and subjects) pay more than others.

There are sites about devoted to high-paying keyword lists... I read once about $17,- per click (cost or revenue - I don't remember)

So you're doing well (probably above average), but nothing excessive. So don't worry.

Thanks for the reply, my website is about investing in European Property & investing in the stock market & currency. I guess as these will be pretty competitve key words the top bidders are paying alot for their Google Ads.

I have been given a new lease of life looking at the potential I can earn from ad-sense, people must be paying some crazy money for some of their clicks !

You are in the right business sector for high paying clicks. We also have keywords that are in the financial sector and highly competitive. The $ per click is way above average. The trick is to get your traffic up. That takes SERP placement. If you have them both... financial keyword and placement, there is money to be made on AdSense.

on one of my voip sites i got one click for something stupid like $5 so it is possible you are getting those amounts.
there is a ton of money to be made but be careful they dont detract from your sales.
If your site is just a resource site or a directoury go for it and youwill see the bucks rolling in.

Thanks for the replies guys, yeah I need to tread carefully & find the balance between Ad-sense & my sales from the site, I have just setup my channel monitors & will monitor my sales vs ad-sense revenues & see which is the best way to go & try to fine tune for both.

Im probably being cheeky now ;-) But is there a way to make you Google Ad sense adverts open in a new window ? Would be ideal but I havent been able to do it & I guess you cant ?

you can NOT make the adverts open in a new window.
You will get your adsense account suspended.

there are some guys on here that earn upwards of $20`000 a month from adsense to answer your questions on revenue

You cannot open them in a new window, but you can make sure that your site is not "lost". Try not to mess with adsense TOS though. It's a fine line, I know.

On a site that I launched last November and first optimized for Adsence and am just beginning to build links:

Month to date is $XX.72, eCPM=$ZZ.40

Now, lets see; If I get 6000 visitors a day that will make me 6xZZ.40= $566.40/day?... $16,992.00/month????

raz... it is against the AdSense T&C's to share any statistics other than gross revenue. It can get your account suspended. Just thought you should know.
