My guess would be any of the crowded industries, like the term 'sex' or 'enlargement' etc.

The most expensive one I know of off the top of my head is $16.34 per click for "hard drive recovery".

We've got a tool that analyzes that information and the highest one I've seen was around $50 USD for football betting...

FYI FWIW: You might take a look at this SEOchat forum thread where I discussed this exact issue and made reference to the above keywords/valuations from the original Wall Street Journal article.

The WSJ was indeed the source for this information.

A good question is, where you can get constant updating of this list. On the other hand, another question is: why anyone would need this information unless he intends to specifically adjust his content according to this list. An action which is not very ...um... ethical

While I personally would find a list like this pretty interesting (because I enjoy trying to figure out the whole "system" works), I totally agree that there's some ethical issues that come up - in fact, in that other thread, GuyFromChicago commented:
"Also, the last type of person I want to screw with is a lawyer"

P.S. Ironically, I got a spam-email last night that was titled "conference calling" - I didn't look any further at it, but you wonder if they are making a play for that keyword.

What do you mean by 'because I enjoy trying to figure out the whole "system" works'? Calculating price for keywords? Because it's pretty simple.

I took his comments to meaning how the Adwords system works in conjunction with advertiser sites. If you can get 1/5 - 1/3 of all Adwords revenue, then 70/5 - 70/3 looks pretty tasty in the profits department. Granted, the space is pretty crowded, as most high CPC keyword phrases usually are.

Not sure current bid, but "Content Management" was up to $16.00 about a month ago.
