Is Splitting Campaigns bad for Conversion Optimizer?

Hello,

I am managing a very large adwords account. A practice that we have done is to move exact keywords that have been working well to a campaign called "exacts" and adding them as negatives to the other campaigns in the profile.

However, we have recently started using conversion optimizer, and I am concerned that this method isn't allowing conversion optimizer to run at it's best.

Does anyone have any insights on this?

Thanks,

Joel

Splitting you campaigns does not affect conversion optimizer.

I would suggest that you monitor the campaign for a week derive inferences.

Agreed, it will help you to concentrate on each campaign and the specific keyword

Splitting Campaigns according to different types of keyword is best practice for adwords . It will help you to get better picture on roi and performing and non performing keywords .

Hi, I would say splitting is a good idea. From my experience, having more targeted campaigns for keywords (ie specific ads AND specific landing pages) brings your ad position UP, due to Google determining more relevance. This also means better CTR and longer time spent on site, which decreases costs / CPC compared to ad position.

+ You can track / compare different ads and keywords.
