Is ‘Google Adsense’ program instigating email spam???


The heading of this article may surprise many. But this is what I found when I analyzed many spam emails that I was receiving in my email box.

I just did the following analysis.

1. I separated the emails that I received from many sites where I had registered myself for various services on the Internet.

2. I separated the emails that I received from unknown sources as un-solicited emails.

Then when I looked in to the contents of these emails and their purpose, I felt that,

1. Majority of the senders with whom I had registered sent newsletters and reminders and the links within the contents pointed to WebPages containing ‘Google Adwords’ advertisements. The more astonishing factor was a couple of them had the ‘Google Adwords’ advertisements embedded in the email itself.


2. Many of the un-solicited email senders also had the links pointing to pages containing ‘Google Adwords’. Probably their aim was to create pages, which would somehow bring highly bid ‘Google Adwords’ in these pages and then bring in lots of visitors to the Web Page through these bulk-spam emails. The pages are so created that visitors unknowingly click on these advertisements assuming that it is a link from the same site.

So, the advertiser loses money, the spammer makes money and the visitor is cheated.

I wish google made frequent checks of all its adsense partners from time to time for these frauds that are occurring.

Also google should make a through background investigation of all new adsense signups.
