How do you all get Keywords?
I'm trying to get an idea of how everyone here comes up with their niche or obscure keywords. I've pretty much used the google keyword tool, and wordtracker tool, but once you get the basic keywords for your business, how do you go about coming up with phrases and different keywords? Is there a good program or website out there that can generate good ideas?
Anyhow, my brain can only come up with so many different keywords and variations, so I wanted to see what everyone else does. Thanks!

Generating Keywords
Each person I've ever seen has a different way for generating keywords, especially the targeted, niche ones.
One simple way is to just start getting specific with your products. If you sell Blue Widgets With Green Polka Dots, they you have one right there, "Blue Widget With Green Polka Dots". After that go for different variations on that, "Green Polka Dotted Blue Widget", "Widgets With Dots", "Blue Widget Green Dots". Start breaking down what it is exactly you do or sell in detail.

If you have an existing site, one of the best tools for finding those obscure keywords within your content is to use mylongtail: http://www.mylongtail.com/login.asp?c=0.

Keyword generation
I use a free keyword tool -serpanalytics.com/tools/top_keywords
It helps me to know what about the CPC for a particular keyword and this helps to choose a good keyword. When you choose keyword you need to manipulate them using one at a time to see the result. The one that best works for you should ve then taken in use.

Keyword Spying
One more technique to get good keywords is to use sites like keywordspy, semrush or spyfu. You can give your site's url and you get to know what keywords your competitiors are using or you just can give your products name or keyword and a whole list of keywords used by others show up. Happy keyword spying..
