Google - Summary of Adsense Penalties
Exactly what are ALL the penalties that Google has imposed?
What are the EXACT WORDS used in the emails (in CAPS below)? **Webpage Penalties** 1. "Serp demotion" (no notification) - Temporary, 3 months - for Florida "commercial terms" penalty, verified by Scroogle **Adsense Penalties** 1. "Serp demotion" (no notification) - Temporary, fixable - SERP demotion penalty for Adsense spammer, but ads are still served (made-for-adsense sites). For example, www getbestinfo.com, wedding-weddings com 2. "ADS DISABLED" (email notification) - Temporary, fixable - Ads blocked to specific URLs for page content violations, other pages OK, other sites OK. Respond quickly and humbly. 3. "ACCOUNT DISABLED" (email notification) - Permanent, no recourse - for invalid clicks (account "cancelled"?) Get new name. Get new address. Get new domain. What other Adsense penalties are imposed? Demotion = devaluation = relevance reduction What other terms has Google used when communicating with you? What about "Cancelled"?, "Suspended"? "Banned"? "Terminated"? I want to know the answers too.
How did you get the Exact words? Especially for SERP based SPAM. Will Adsenes just disable a site, or whole account? For just weeks, or as soon as it is fixed? |

What I Meant
I'm sorry. I wasn't clear at all.
I want people to tell me here, any EXACT wording that they have seen. For example, "disabled" seems to be applied to everything - is that right? Does it imply possible re-enabling? The words I started with above were just suggestions. I was hoping to be corrected, and then edit and summarize the list online. I have gone back and put EVERY EXACT WORD in CAPS. Yes, and How about "site penalty", or "domain penalty"? How about "index page penalty"? We can comment on the email notifications, but must speculate on the "unnotified penalties" (Serp demotions). May I ask you said "Yes" for which question? I think invalid clicks should be banned forever for good. But the spam and SERP related is in the gray area. I saw Owen has one site banned but not his account. That is a good news. I don't understant getbestiinfo kind of website is sill serving adsense, so that means it is oked by adsense at least. |

By "yes", I was just acknowledging and restating your other questions -
"Will Adsenes just disable a site, or whole account?" I think that the answer can be either, depending upon how bad the violation is. I went back, and tried to make this clear in the first post above. Last edited by Surf-Dude : October 19th, 2004 at 12:26 PM. |

New Page - Google Adsense Penalties
I decided that this discussion was getting a little complicated, so I made a new page about it -
http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/goo...e-penalties.htm Maybe we can use this as a reference point. Post your comments right here. I will update the chart as new data becomes available, as other, multiple, strong opinions come together. |

Surf-Dude,
Good post, thank you. Can a competitor keep clicking on your adwords repeatedly to get you banned? raz |

Get Competitor Banned?
Google says no.
Some webmasters say yes, depending upon how it is done. I just don't know. |
