Google seems to be quick on click fraud.

As noted elsewhere Google is currently investigating click fraud on my behalf. They responded within a day. We will see how from an initial comment/complaint they followed up w/email w/in a day. I was specific w/ regard to the items in question and we will see how fast they are to investigate and respond.

While they are very non-responsive on duplicate content issues they seem to take this one seriously.

Man I would love to learn how I could jerk their chain all the time.

Well adwords feeds them so they are bound to be more worried about complaints about click fraud then about dublicate content that has a much more indirect effect on their cashflow.

Update: Google's timeliness on Click Fraud

Reported click fraud on Friday, July 1. Google responded and had me provide specifics.

Did so on late Friday, 7/1. On 7/6, Wednesday, got a follow up to my response saying that the specifics were mvoing to an investigation team.

Not bad. Since the specifics went to them late Friday and Monday was a holiday...they responded again w/in 2 work days. Now we will see how long it takes to get into this issue.

All I can say is that for an incredibly secretive non-responsive company...this is clearly the issue that makes them responsive.

I guess if you want to see google jump...hit em up where they are most vulnerable...the money...and since adwords is responsable for almost all their revenues...this is the issue that makes them respond.

Google, imo, needs more tools to measure click fraud. There are companies out there that sell stuff that detects it much better than Google seems to do. They should spend a bit of their cash and buy one of these companies

Google comes up w/ an answer on click fraud in 2-3 working days.

Last night google reported that our ads were shown in the AOL services directory. What is that?

Anyways, they have been surprisingly fast in trying to track down this information.

My experience is that this is the one area that they are customer/consumer friendly.

If G did not respond lightning fast it would not take long for their minimal anti-fraud efforts to become front page news on Advertisers Weekly. How many companies would continue to pump money into AdWords if they believed a goodly percentage of their advertising dollar was being bled off through publisher fraud?
