estimating adsense rates from adword rates
I see that google will give you an estimate of how much you would pay per click for ads on adwords for a given set of phrases.
Is there something similar they have to calculate how much you would make from adsense?
If not, does anybody know how to calculate how much you would make on adsense (revenue per click) by looking at the adwords rates for specific phrases?

Well you can do a few things to try to get a better idea on the money your page can make using AdWords, first thing you are going to want to do is install the AdSense preview tool its here: https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/answer.py?answer=10005&topic=160
After that go to your page that you are thinking of putting AdWords on and check to see what ads you will see. Then you will have to reverse engineer these ads. Often you can figure out the theme/keywords from these ads once you have that do searches for these terms and try to find the same ad on the results page.
Once you find the ad you still in a tough spot as you still can't really tell the costing but you get an idea if the ads at the very top you know this guy is paying closer to the max CPC rate that the estimator gives you when you use AdWords estimator for the same term.
The last thing you will want to do it check the Yahoo bids for the same term, if they are smart buyers they will be using both yahoo and google and at least at Yahoo you can tell the bid they gave and using this you can get a better idea on budget/value of a click from that website.
As for the money you get back, everyone is different, but think 60% and you'll be safe but its not exact and the above solution is a lot of work to end up with the same answer I can give you right here right now, you'll make money no matter what your keywords you use, just worry about bringing in people and creating content related to what those users would be looking for.
If you are looking for some info in the blackhat world of Adsense take a look at www.syndk8.net/forum/ there you'll find lots of info on high paying keywords and ways to simply make an extra buck.
