Hi,
I'm new to Adwords and would like to ask about Inactive keywords. Why do I have to increase the bid for a keyword when there is no competition at all? It's like "akupunktio" needs $1.00 to activate. There's no other ads why can't I get the click cheaper? Thanks, jascos8 |

An inactive keyword doesn't have a high enough Quality Score and maximum cost-per-click (CPC) to trigger ads. This means your keyword's maximum CPC doesn't meet the minimum bid required to trigger ads. Inactive keywords aren't performing well.

If you dont keep your CTR up to at least .5% you will get kicked for that keyword. If your add isnt performing well, change the creative (text, wording) and check to see if you have it geo targeted to US and no US Canada, UK. If you dont convert with Canada and UK you might want to shut it off. Also you can shut off your content if you want to keep it more targeted to search results. Could help you bring up your CTR

that is the old system with the newer system you can pay more to display your lower clickthrough terms, paying a premium for the lack of relevance. also remember that a $1 bid may not mean that you are paying a full dollar for every click |
