Can AdWords work for me?
I have a pretty new site, approx 3 or 4 months old and am currently getting virtually 0 hits from Google. I assume I'm still sandboxed. I'm only getting very limited traffic from Yahoo and MSN currently - something of the region of 5-10 hits per day.
I currently spend approx $100 a month on Yahoo Sponsored searches which brings in a few extra hits. Since I am getting at least some hits with Yahoo through the regular search, I thought it might make sense was planning to move these funds from Yahoo and spend it instead on Google AdWords. In your opinion is Google AdWords right for me or should I stick to Yahoo sponsored listing? Another noob question - is spending money on AdWords any more likely to release me from the Google Sandbox!? Thanks |

It really depends on what kind of keywords you are talkig about to know if its worth your time and money. Personally, I prefer Adwords over Overture. I think that Adwords gives you more control over where your ads are shown. Their user interface is also a lot easier IMO. One bad part about adwords is that you really have to spend time optimizing your keywords and ads, because low Click Thru Rates means they won't even show your ads.
As for your second question, I know from first hand experience, using adwords won't help you get out of the sandbox. Pay per click search is fine to suppliment your traffic while a site is new, but you should really work on getting some quality one way backlinks. I did, and now Im getting way more traffic than I ever did with Adwords and Yahoo put together. Getting organic results with Google takes time. I should know. Im coming up on 8 months now, and still waiting to get traffic. Good luck |
