Bug: Ad Delivery Optimization Stays On
AdWords has confirmed that they are working on a bug I recently came across. If you disable "Automatically optimize ad serving for my ads", you may find it still optimizing ad delivery. Usually this can be fixed by turning this feature on and then off again. Unfortunately the only way to see if it's working properly is to check the ad delivery statistics.
I cannot say what causes the bug. It may have been the result of an upgrade they made that didn't pick up my original settings, or it may be something that can recur.
Why, you may ask, would you ever turn off this feature? So that I can run good A/B testing on ad variations without statistics being skewed.
