They're probably Public Service Ads, but to be sure you can right click one of them and look at the Properties of the URL, being very careful not to actually click any of them of course. If the URL is a redirect via googlesyndication.com then it's a paying Ad. If the URL is direct to the site, then it's a PSA.

Gringo.

alternate ads ... replace with what ?

Hello gringo thanks for your comments.

Will the alternate ads feature work in this case ? Any ideas on what can I replace them with ?

have you seen textads.biz anybody has any experience with these guys ? Is it against Adsense policy to replace the google adsense with similar advertising ?

Hey Gringo what about "textads.biz"? Or do you know of another revenue source to fill in when Google does the Public Service Ads thing

I have no experience of textads.biz so I can't comment. Howver, it's very easy to insert alternative ads or just an alternative link if you're using other affiliate programs.

Just create an html document with code such as this ...
Code:
<center><a href="My_Affiliate_Link" target="_blank"><img src="My_Affiliate_Image" border=0></a></center>
Save it to your webserver and then specify this page as your Alternative Ad page in your AdSense account.

Gringo.

Those are Charity ads, which you don't get paid for. They show up whenever Google hasn't indexed your site yet, check out the FAQ for more info.

They sometimes show up even if Google HAS indexed your site. In particular, they show up in other langauges from time to time. That's why it's always a good idea to implement the alternative ads function.
