App Accepted for Yahoo Publisher Beta!

Well, I actually got accepted for a beta program! Has anyone else been using it yet? I'd be curious to see other's results.

I'll keep you guys posted on my findings on comparisons w/ it and AdSense...

Can you give us a hint about your traffic levels?

I'm wondering what traffic levels it takes right now to be invited.

Well, at 50,000 impressions per month, I guess I have a while to wait.

Thanks for the info!

So far, CTR is similar but $/click is slightly higher. Yahoo pays in 45 days vs Google's 30. Latest stats are for the previous day not the current day. I had 1 hour of blank white space before ads started showing. I called Yahoo Publisher telephone support, had very short a hold time, and then talked with very friendly tech staff. So far I only have ads on the main section of my site, I may add & test it on other sections but Yahoo's ad inventory (so far) is thinner than Google's and may show more generalized ads (within a category) versus the more specific Google ads.

I was invited on the 13th as well. My site has about 50,000 unique visitors per month with about 600,000 impressions per month.

In my experience yahoo ads have been extremely relevant, and they've also paid substantially more per click, so I'm making quite a bit more than I have with any other advertising program yet (and I've tried quite a few..). As DerekZ said, you get paid in 45 days to googles 30, and the stats are delayed, but I'm certainly willing to sacrafice those for the substantial increase in ad revenue I've seen..

After a full week of testing on selected pages I am switching back to Adwords and better CTR and CPM. Yahoo ads were targetted to my topic but were more generic than the Adwords ads. Yahoo may be better on a different topic than mine.
I will keep Yahoo active on a less busy page just to keep it alive and as insurance in case I ever have any trouble with Google (not that I'm doing anything bad).

No, but I'd appreciate your help - where can I apply to test this? I'm thinking about a site that gets around 18,000 uniques per month - is this enough for Yahoo?

It certainly sounds like a fun addition to any site...

I'm assuming it's not an exclusive offer? Yahoo and AdSense are allowed to cohabit a page / site?

All info will be gratefully received!

mini - u can apply here http://publisher.yahoo.com/

i think the quality of the site is what determines if you get accepted, not the traffic. (although i'm not sure)

good luck

tg
