All available sites? Google? or Display Network?

In the settings page of your campaign there's an option under Networks and you can choose "All Available Sites", "Search", or "Display".

I've seen both the search and display network being talked about on these forums but am still not familiar with these terms and therefore not able to make an informed decision on which option to choose for my campaign. As of right now my campaign is on search network - Google Search and Search Partners.

Can anyone help me out with this?

Search network refers to Google search engine and other search engines powered by Google, such as ask.co.uk

Display network refers to your ads being placed on google's disply network, which is a large selection of sites that google adwords are displayed on, you can select these sites by the exact site or type of site based on industry etc. Depends where youthink your target audience will respond best to the ads...

I tend to either shy away from the display Network (sites displaying your ads with adsense) because it pushes your CTR down, which means your bids are worth less.
