Adwords - scams and fraud?

Hi all,

I work for a small business in Europe. We run a Google PPC campaign and have until recently been happily collecting daily CTR of 2% on about 200 impressions. Suddenly in mid October this jumped to 80% for 3 consecutive days and impressions went to 1000. Now, it doesn't take a mathemetician to see that something is obviously very wrong with this and after close investigation we have came to the conclusion of fraudulent activity. So much for the Google policy of tracking fraudulent clicks.

When pressed on the issue, Google naturally denied everything... but after a week they crumbled and have refunded all our clicks for this period. A few days ago we activated our account and within 12 hours we were getting CTR of 75% and hit our daily $200 limit. Obviously we have now paused the account again.

We can't be the only company who is experiencing these issues with Google?

the CTRs are definitely too high. are your sites related to holidays? earnings from many holiday sites surged between 200% to 500% lately.
