AdWords CTR vs AdSense CTR
A member of Google's AdWords team recently commented that the overall average AdWords CTR is just above 2%.
This means that anything above that for your AdSense CTR is definitely a Good Thing, although obviously there will be large variations depending on market, web-page design etc. Gringo. |

Is that for all of AdWords, or just content targetted ads?
We run some AdWords and I see a HUGE difference between CTR for content targeting (AdSense) and search targetting. AdWords for the last week for us has been 17.3% CTR for search and 1.0% for content... - Shawn

The figure quoted was mentioned as "AdWords wide", so I suppose all targeting is included. Particularly as this was stated in an AdWords context, without AdSense being mentioned.

Well that seems to be pretty inline with my results with AdSense on my husbands site, give or take a percentage or two, depending on the day and all that jazz.

17.3% is really amazing ! I get about a third of that on my adsense. With my adwords I always get 1% or even less, and then I would have to pay the 5 bucks to be to normal delivery. Could you let us know at least the category ? |
