Question AdSense Profit...

: Recently, I registerd for google adsense and according to the terms and conditions the percentage google is willing to split is undetermined for each click derived from promoting websites. Does anyone know what the average return for being a traffic sharing partner of adsense on a PPC basis is?

My company, Universal Engine (www.universalengine.com), is about to launch 150 Vortals (vertical market portals) and we have registered an adsense account, but it is hard to put together a business plan without understanding the financial ramifications of google adsense first. Does anyone have suggestions or knowledge they could lend about how adsense revenue share works?

Thanks a million!

Best,

Nickolas

I don't think anyone really knows the percentage we receive on a per ad basis. Part of the google secrecy. You'll be happy with adsense if you have good keywords and a content oriented website.

Good Luck

The percentage might vary amongst terms, but i can tell you that in my arena, adwords charges customers $3 - $4 a click and only pays publishers around a quarter.

I think it's rather silly not to specify. But, then again, it is the google brand. Most other search engines specify the split.

Thanks for the idea Gothman.

Best,

Nickolas

If you arent happy with what adsense are offering and you think it is `silly`.
Just use a different company that will tell you how much split you are getting.

Its as easy at that.
You arent tied to adsense .

To be frank, the lack of a percentage computation formulae distrubs me more than the poor stats provided by AdSense.

However, once you got the picture with this affiliate marketing model, and with a good usage of channels you can make better forecasts. I also strongly recommend using adwords to test the waters before jumping in.

I have nothing against adsense but there aren't that many good alternatives to adsense. Yes, there are a few other programs but they don't even come close to adsense. So although you aren't tied to adsense, until yahoo releases their 'adsense', google's is the best option, at least for me.

From the publisher side, some words cost very little or nothing if they are not searched often. Target your pages to generate ads for words in highly competative markets.
