It's against Google's terms & conditions to talk publicly about your CTR, but I will say that for my travel related sites, the skyscraper format at the right of the content seems to work best, closely followed by the leaderboard format.

That explains why it's so hard to find any information on it...
let's exclude that question then.

Thanks Gringo.

Do you have any idea why they would want to censor this information?

It's a large banner format. Check it out here.

Presumably to stop webmasters competing against each other to get higher CTR's and maybe using artificial or fraudulent methods to do so.

alphamale - your site is only showing 2 ads in the skyscraper format (at least on the front page) whereas there is space for a total of 4 ads. I believe this is because you seem to be optimizing for xbox cheats and codes. If you search Google for xbox cheats and codes or just xbox or even just cheats, you'll get no AdWords at all.

This tells you that you'll get no AdSense ads either for those words. Maybe this doesn't bother you, but if you want more ads showing perhaps you should optimize for game consoles or something. It really depends on your objective - whether you want to optimize for normal Google searches or for the ads.

Most of the time it is showing 4 ads. I haven't seen it display only 2. Thanks for the heads-up.

I would really like to optimize for 'xbox cheat' because of the search volume for that term.

Doesn't Google deterine that my site is about the Xbox and it would probably be a good idea to place Xbox advertisements on it?

Or does Google know that it is strictly xbox cheats?

Maybe it only showed 2 for me because of the geo-targeting.
