Adsense "Gold" strategies

I read a web marketing bible which recommends the product called Adsense Gold from www. adsensegold .com. It seems to suggest that the product offers "already written off the shelf articles" targetting high earning keywords.

In short, I would imagine that Google has probably gotten wise to this strategy and that many sites have cropped up using duplicate content as a result of this. How off the shelf articles could be classed as "quality oiriginal content" is also very questionable. Hence, I am sitting here thinking that sites using this technique would probably be banned or filtered by G due to duplicate content and the like. Hence, my post to ask for feedback from this forum.

Am I right that this is an old strategy that won't work in 2006?

My apologies if this has already been discussed. Maybe someone could point me to any articles about it.

Yeah, it is not very smart thing to have the same content on your site like on other sites, I'm sure google checks that. I can't give you any links but I remember reading somewhere that google checks for duplicate content.
