Adsense Drug Ads - OK Once Again - Anything Goes
At
https://www.google.com/adsense/policies It states - "Site Content Site may not include: . . . * Sales or promotion of beer or hard alcohol * Sales or promotion of tobacco or tobacco-related products * Sales or promotion of prescription drugs" Aren't these real prescription drug ads - http://www.free-online-directory.com/drug/phentermine.html What gives? I thought that the current Google Adsense policy, as stated above, is "No prescription drug ads on Adsense". I don't get it. Can someone explain this? Go to Google - type in hydrocodone - you get 8 ads on the right for hydrocodone, one of the most addictive opiates (see attached). Apparently, the rules have changed, once again. Google says don't do it, but they allow it, and DO IT THEMSELVES. Huh? <edit>I need to get out more often. This is old news - Google Promotes Illegal Online Pharmacies - http://www.google-watch.org/evilgoo.html Once again, Daniel is on the case.<edit> Last edited by Surf-Dude : January 29th, 2005 at 11:07 PM. |

If you try to add such ad in adwords, google will allow you to do so only if you give them some official Online Pharmacy ID. So not everyone is allowed to submit these ads. But it seems like it's necessary only if you want you ad to be displayed in US and Canada. If you don't choose these countries, no ID is required (maybe at later stage on submitting). And the AdSense policies state that AdSense is not allowed on websiteswith pharmacy content. It says nothing about the content of the ads displayed. |
