Adsense Bombing

You heard it here first...

You've probably heard of Google Bowling - knocking your competitors out of the serps by linking to them and doing other devious stuff.

Well, now it's time to introduce Adsense Bombing!

Simply take your competitors Adsense info, put it on a TE or other spammy page and use the Ads by Google to report them.

People must bear a REAL grudge, before they do that, G-man.
What would they achieve except revenge (and maybe a repercussion, later)? Sounds risky, perhaps just as risky as having adsense on bad pages (e.g. cloaked) yourself.

We'll see. If Google pulls this "service" (i.e. the adsense spam report feature) soon, we'll know how easy it was to trick.

Thats why I always wonder why don't google approve every site before letting google ads displayed on it. This will reduce lots of spammish sites which are there just for the sake of adsense.

Furthermore, how'd they keep track of people changing the page afterwards? That's also a common Dmoz (and Zeal) problem...

All true, but I don't think adsense bombing is a major problem yet.

For one thing, it doesn't help the person doing the bombing. Not his/her income, nor ranking.

I think gman was just making a point about the way there is the odd saddo chasing round the web reporting pages.
Even though there are people who dont have any financial gain they are going on spam hunts and just reporting pages to the search engines.
Needless to say,, none of them have probably have girlfriends/boyfriends so they have nothing better to do.

LOL yep. The whole reporting thing is getting out of hand in my opinion. Sure, there'd be no gain in doing it BUT the thing is that people COULD do it thus the reason why I don't think we'll see (anytime soon) Google suspending adsense accounts for spammy sites.

I registered adsensebombing.com last night and may actually put up a page for grins and giggles

They might Adsense bombing is a lot cheaper than Google bombing You only need one site for adsense bombing. Google bombing, on the other hand, requires a lot more sites.

Even at $2.99 a domain it gets pricey

Hi, G-Man, I'm just curious with all the spam sites you put up that get banned after a month, you never had a problem with angry bloggers or Guest list owners and with G revoking your Adsense?

I had an angry blogger threaten me with legal action once for referral spam. Other than that, no problems so far.

It's cheap to setup a new corporation if google happens to revoke my adsense account.

This is my first post here. But when I saw you mention Adsense bombing...I knew that's exactly what has happened to me. Tell me if you think the same. I had a long (1 1/2 hour) conversation with an SEO company technician or you might say salesman. After that time, I agreed to think about signing up with their company. He called me a few days later and I told him I was going to try to continue doing the seo on my own. He got really angry with me and said something like: After you work on your own and are still not on page 1, call me. You will!! That sounds like a threat to me. What do you think?

A couple days after that, I got the email from adsense that my account had been reported as having illegal clicks. I know there are a lot of people who CLAIM they do nothing illegal, but I am really one of those people who did nothing wrong. Could this have been Adsense bombing? Would it be that easy to do to someone? Can it be reversed with Google? Thanks for your help with this.

It may have been adsense bombing. That's the problem - its' really hard to tell if it is or isn't what happened to you because Google doesn't give you all the details.

It is quite trivial to do. All pages with adsense have a publisher code and all you have to do is copy that code, place it on another page and then click on the links.

Can it be reversed? Well, you can try sending them a polite letter explaining what happened and see if they'll reinstate your account. If not, it's easy to setup another corporation where you can get another adsense account.
