Adsense 1K club
I am just curious to see how many people on here make more than 1K a month off of googles Adsense.
I just broke the mark here recently and wanted to see who else is in the club? |

are you subtracting the spend that it takes to get the users to your site?

I am a club member, and I will make a real effort to get into the 10k club. I plan to have a party and take lots photos of the UPS guy/gal the day I get the 10k$+ check delivered to my house.

Yep, in the club.
Here's my advice to anyone who runs information content sites.... If you have very rich original content don't put your content in a subordinate position to adsense. Getting natural links is a higher goal. They are worth more because they will bring you traffic and increase your rankings long term. So, show your content first and have the ads as compliments to it. If you are extremely aggressive with the ads you could get filtered and you are putting short term profits ahead of website success. Alternative or supporting ideas appreciated if you care to post them.

what do you mean by a subordinate position?
Use the ads to complement the text and not a bit of text to compliment the amount of adverts? |

An extreme example would be a page with two big rectangles of adsense in the visitors face on every page.... clearly a sign of a site built for adsense.
IMO this can get a site filtered because you look like a scraper. But, putting one rectangle a little farther down the page is safe as long as your headline and some of the content is above the ad. |

but such as adsense are javascript so the ads dont count? do they?
When i do a cache of my pages and put text only it looks like a real page. i understand what you are saying but i persoanlly dont think sites get filtered becuse of ads but i dont have enough information on this to win an argument over it if there was one. Is there any supporting evidence to say that pages with adsense get filered / dont get filtered? |

I am not claiming that pages with adsense get filtered. I
What I believe is that pages that put two or three big blocks of adsense right at the top waive a red flag that it is a page designed to show adsense. This would likely get them filtered IMO. |

It is pretty straight forward to place content n the screen regardless of their place in the HTML markup, so I do not think there is any red flag raised on pages that have the adsense code high up in the source code. On the otherhand it would make sense to have the adsense code near teh end of the markup, to give the content a more prominent role in the markup. On the other hand the placeemnt of the adsense blocks within the HTML will affect the ads shown for the page, which in turn will affect the click though rate.

Uh, I think I'm on the same page as Egol.
You just won't get links to your pages if you put the adsense is annoying places and impose it upon your users. It's better to work out where it works best without destroying the flow of the page. I've found some of the smaller ad formats can work beautifully if placed in such a way that they blend in with other content. But, then, I wish I was in the $100 club. :-/ |
