Ad Targetting Slowdown?

In the past, when I added a new page, I would typically get appropriate ads in less than 1 minute. I would just refresh a couple of times, and there they were - never any longer than 5 minutes.

I added a new page this week (computers), and got ads for flowers for 2 days, so I wrote to Google. The response was something like - "the bot has probably not visited yet."

Let's see. 60 minutes times 24 hours = 1440 minutes per day

Is the Google Mediapartners bot now 1000 times slower than it was before? Or is it just my one weird case?

They might just have a flower shop surplus, plugging them everywhere possible You're not talking about Public Service Ads, or are you?

Not PSAs.
I put up a page for a friend's Flower Shop many months ago, and I think that that is the reason. As I have read elsewhere, webmasters have stated that when they put up a new page, they often get ads associated with "SOME other page" on their website - a kind of "lazy Google guess" before the bot shows up. I have personally seen this on my sites, but the delay to targetted ads was very short - less than an hour - not days.

My conclusion -
The Mediapartners bot has been recently overloaded, broken, or "slowed-down" for some reason. Or, if no one else has much to say, it may just be me.

The Mediapartner bot won't crawl a old pages unless there're lot of things happing on that page. it serves right ads pretty fast for new pages though.

Dejaone -

I think you hit the nail right on the head -
New = Fast
Old = Not so fast

BUT . .
The page I put up was 100% brand new!
Which is why I made this post.

Brand new page - refresh - refresh - refresh 100 times - no change after 2 days.
Email Google - change shortly thereafter. So, I don't know.
