What's best way to learn PPC without spending money?

I want to learn enough about PPC to talk confidentially in an interview for a job which will mostly be SEO (which is what I do).
Never really done PPC, did dabble a little year ago. Any suggestions for a good resource online (ideally free!) that offers practical advice, examples etc.

I don't know how you can really learn it, without hands on experience, but Google does have free training. It is very challenging and what you have to learn doesn't always directly help your PPC skills.

Lol you want to learn something for free so you can charge someone else. Is there something wrong with that statement?

One of the best ways to save money on Google AdWords. Here are some tips :
    1. Use of ad extensions to further increase CTR
    2. Adjust your campaign location setting
    3. Find new keywords
    4. Avoid broad match types

If you really want to learn for free this is what I did:

I use Google and use search terms that pertains to learning PPC and always include "101".
Results will give you most of the time a list of websites giving paid service, bummer.
But the kicker for me when visiting the sites, they gave a topic list in beginner to expert roadmap.
I copied the list and then manually researched and took notes on each topic.

It got me to where I can set properly a setting for a PPC campaign.

That's how I got my free lessons.
It might help you in your job interview, but its up to you to take what I have shared.
I know the struggle and what you will be going thru.
The real learning will be when the time you will handle your first PPC campaign.
