    Metric to check in Adwords


    Hi All,

    What metrics should we check and for what time duration before changing the bid value and adding negative keywords?

    Generally gathering data takes around 2-3 weeks. Considering you created a proper ad I generally would not change the bid during that period.

    Regarding the negative keywords, if you notice your ads on strange queries (totally irrelevant) then I would add negative keywords when I find them, but be careful not been to restrictive both with your valid and negative keywords.

    Hi Pierre,

    Thank you for the reply. Suppose I have to manage a poor performing campaign which has been running since 2 years. If I have to adjust bid at the keyword or adgroup or device or location level, looking at how many days or months should I edit the same?

    I need some advice on helping to improve campaign performance.

    Adwords is a complex matter, everything depends on your reported data.
    If bid adjustment can be made at different levels it is because it will have different impacts, unfortunately I can not give you advice on that, there is no golden rule because every product and every audience have its specificities...
