As Google is completely redesigning AdWords interface. What are your thoughts on it?
For those who haven't heard this news yet - do you mean this story? AdWords is Getting a Redesign | Threadwatch.org
If, as Google claims, they are not actually changing the function of AdWords - how campaigns are run, costs, basic concepts, etc - then this seems easy to digest. The old design lasted 15 years, which is pretty impressive. Google's reasons for redesigning the interface are interesting. It sounds like they believe that the many functions of AdWords have actually outpaced its interface design. So a redesign will take into account all the new AdWords features that have been developed over the years and, I assume, make them easier to use and understand.
It's interesting that they say "AdWords should be more about your business, and less about our product." The Search Engine Land story in the above link has a quote from an AdWords rep saying that they listened to feedback from webmasters when imagining this redesign. That's generally a good sign, right?
Sounds like it will take a while to get off the ground though - all through this year and part of next is when they'll be testing and building it. If anyone around here is lucky enough to get a glimpse, I'd love to hear their thoughts!
