All of the paginated content we so carefully add re=next/prev to, well Google apparently pays no attention to this markup and they don't use it.

Google seems to think we build excellent sites, LOL, Here's the article, image is linked.

After a recent Wordpress update, I started seeing
unusual URL links after each visit to my site.

It's something like this one: guition.com/wp-json/pum/v1/analytics/?event=open&pid=903&_cache=1553072681271

It clearly has something to do with cache, but even after I clear cache using Autoptimize and WP Fastest Cache plugins, nothing happens.
I'm also suspecting Google Analytics judging by the link, but I'm not sure how to go about fixing this.
The link doesn't lead anywhere; only a blank page appears. Does someone know how to fix this?
All plugins and themes are up to date.

Installing translation plugin on wordpress: Any checklist and risks? http://forums.seochat.com/google-optimization-7/installing-translation-plugin-wordpress-any-checklist-risks-499788.html Tue, 19 Mar 2019 11:46:10 GMT Hi,

We are going to install a translation plugin on our wordpress hosted website. It's going to generate sub directories like website.com/it/ or website.com/fr/. The plugin will create hreflang tags automatically in the pages and canonicals will be pointing to same pages. Is there anything to check before deploying this plugin? We are going to generate more than 30+ languages pages which will increase our website pages to 30 times in Google index.

Will this dilute the page ranking or have any duplicate content issues?

Thanks ]]>

SEO Third-Party Hotels http://forums.seochat.com/search-engine-optimization-28/search-engine-optimization-third-party-hotels-499752.html Thu, 14 Mar 2019 15:37:45 GMT Hello,

Does anybody have any advice for SEO for third-party hotels? We've been given some new hotels to sell on our booking website that are third-party. There's quite a lot of competition of other companies selling the same hotel from major travel companies.

Thanks in advance ]]>

Is this strategy still okay? http://forums.seochat.com/google-optimization-7/strategy-still-okay-499751.html Thu, 14 Mar 2019 15:19:20 GMT About 10 years ago I designed a website for my father regarding carpet cleaning. I researched SEO on this site a lot and had some very good success with my strategy.

Basically this is what I did:

Directed page content: One topic per page. I had around 75 pages of content on his site.

Keyword research: I used tools like Google Keyword tool to come up with 3 terms per page/topic that I wanted to rank for. Some times it was a two word phrase and some times a 3 word phrase.

Page Title (80 chars): I put the page title content like this... User readable title that included my TWO OR THREE WORD PHRASE | three word phrase

Description: I would type a description about 250 characters or less. In this description, I would try to "naturally" have my two or three keyword phrases included. It was typed as natural sentences though, not just Keyword 1, Keyword 2, Keyword 3

H1 Tag: I would have 1xH1 tag on the page that was a Sentence/phrase which included my keyword phrase

2-3x H3 Tags: These would break up the content to be more readable. I would then Include int he H3 tags a sentence that included one of the phrases

Basically... My goal was to have the keyword phrases repeated 2-3 times each in the page, but made sure that the keyword inserts made sense with the content and was readable (user experience).

I had some fantastic success with this. I was highly ranking within bigger local cities as the 1-3 spot consistently. In fact, it was so good that even though nothing has been done with that SEO/site in about 4-5 years it is STILL ranking for some of the terms and dropped to probably about 6-8 for some of the other terms. I also followed that up with writing articles about say, removing ____ stains from your carpet. Then give the directions on how to do that. But in that article I would link back to the appropriate page on the site. This helped a lot with ranking.

QUESTION:

Is this strategy still okay? Note that I make sure that EVERYTHING makes sense when you read it. It sounds natural.

I was talking to a marketing company recently and I they said that this is "keyword stuffing" and that I will be slapped for it. I don't think they are correct because it is "natural content". My guide has always been if you read it and it sounds natural then it is okay. Am I wrong with the way SEO is today? ]]>

Semrush and Ahrefs show totally different results for one of my main markets with regards to the Organic traffic.
GA shows just a small increase, but this doesn't mean anything.

Let's see how this will affect rankings and kws in the next days. ]]>

So this has been my pet project for the last year - creating a truly engaging, multimedia course for SEO.

It is, as the name says, for the Basics and it is primarily aimed at the SME who just wants to get their heads around what SEO is all about before deciding if they should dive in or contract it out.

Its really inspired by the endless conversations I seem to have with potential clients which go:
ME: "So what is your current SEO agency doing?"
CLIENT: "Um ... SEO"
ME: "Yes, but what sort of things have they tried?"
CLIENT: "Well ... you know .... SEO ...."

Like many here I've often pointed them to courses like Moz and the Google offering but they so often glaze over (so they tell me) - either because it is just lots of text or just someone rambling on a video.

Last spring I finally I thought I might try to go one better and after a year of it bubbling slowly on the back burner here is my crack at an easier way to learn SEO:

https://webmaxing.com/online-seo-basics-course/

I'd be really interested to hear from people what their thoughts are. Both the experienced and those who are just dabbling their feet in this subject.

For this Basics course I've tried to keep things fairly neutral (away from the subject areas that cause "Does", "Does Not" arguments!) and give even the most non-techie a way to get enough knowledge not to be conned.... ]]>

We are working on a new site. The idea of the site is to have an ecommerce shop, but the homepage will be a content page, basically a blog page.
My developer wants to have the blog page on a subdomain, so blog.example.com, because it will be easier to make a nice content page this way. I'm just worried that this will be bad for our SEO efforts. I've always thought it was better to use a sub folder rather than a subdomain. What are your thoughts? ]]>
