OScommerce is one of the first e-commerce sites developed. There are many add ons you can plug in if you want it to be seo friendly.

This is really a trick question. All of them have there pros and cons about them and it is very hard to say one is really better over the other. example Zen cart throws a lot of java script into code when it makes the pages that can not be removed. X-cart links from images on it's product layout page and has the caption "more details" as a link to the cart page. Oscommerce I never used so I know very little about but your relying on other people and other peoples plugins with no guarantee to work personally I would go with a paid cart and not use a free one. But there are many good things and bad things to say about most of them. Your best bet is do your homework and look at each and every one and pick the one that is not only good for SEO but also does what you want it to do. I use 2 different ones CRE Loaded Pro and X-cart and I'm happy with both. |

I use dashcommerce (free), which comes with a lot of SEO stuff out of the box and is a super quick setup. They even have an option to enable / disable SEO optimization. And of course it is completely open source, so is easy to modify if you want to add some SEO stuff of your own.

I personally use X-Cart for all of my sites, and my client websites.
While there are some open-source solutions available (the only *good* open-source solution I've found is Magento Commerce), I've found X-Cart to be much more rewarding as a commercial shopping cart. For SEO solutions, you can get the free (open-source) XCSEO Basic, but there are some commercial alternatives available as well The great thing about X-Cart is that it's open-source, there are plenty of 3rd party companies with good addons for X-Cart, there is plenty of places to get support (free and paid), a very active community forum, etc. Plus it seems to be the most ready-for-action platform I've seen. |

Hi hzyqzy,
The original date on this post is rather old, but if you're still searching, I would give Magento a shot. For SEO comparison purposes, just Google "Nine West Women's Lucero Pump", most Magento demo sites have this product listed in their inventory. Look at how many returns you get associated with Magento. Magento is great at managing SEO key words & meta tags. Chack out our demo at: aukdesign com John aukdesign com Quote:

I guarantee that now Magento is best one based on PHP and LAMP. It's free and licensed under GPL :-)

I work for an e-commerce provider who've recently launched a new CMS for building and maintaining ecommerce websites. We have a large number of shops using the very flexible system, most of which achieve good natural listings on google. We provide ecommerce solutions to many high profile companies and small to medium sized businesses.
Our web-based system works on a commission basis, based on monthly turnover, and we are currently planning to make the system available to 3rd party developers who would like to take commission on their clients sales. If this sounds like you, please get in touch via PM for more details. As for my favourite ecommerce platform? It would have to be the company I work for, simply because it's so incredibly quick and easy to build new, very professional looking shops on it, without the worry of dealing with the technical back-end components, which leaves you free to focus on building a good brand and an amazing looking site. Also, as new features become available, every existing merchant has immediate access to it, without the need to install any mods or widgets. Cheers Mat |
