Hi
I am having trouble tracking down where people are seeing my site from thus finding it increasingly difficult to recognise which marketing programmes are paying for themselves. You have to love the comment that i get everytime when i try to ask them ' where exactly did you find us?'.... answer: 'the internet' .....its a bugger. What software is out there to help me with this? There are two solutions i need. 1) Where the client fills out the request for help form on the site:- The form shoud come through and something should log automatically on my database a reference code or something so that i know exactly what they have come from. and 2) A client is on the site and has called me before or without filling out and submitting a form. Is there some sort of software that you can imbed on the site and perhaps ask the client to click on a certain button where it will reveal a code that tells me where they have been reffered from?... Something like this has to be out there already. Would really appreciate any advice. |

Countercentral
I use countercentral on my website, its a "cookie" and tells me the referrer, which in your case could be google, askjeeves etc, and gives me cool info about them, like where they are located. (i currently use it to prevent people copying my website, which if it is it shows me where the site is hosted on).
The counter is invisible and they probably will never know its there. The trial does what its designed to do, but for $7/£4 the registered version has extra features that are better |
