SSL Question

I am attempting to create an ecommerce solution that I have never tried before. My client wants to keep the visitor on his site at all times for purchasing and check out.

I have established a Private SSL with my host with a dedicated IP. I placed the API file (.pem) in my directory to link with LinkPoint. Everything works, but I don't think I am secure yet.

My question is this: How do I make the browser page show that the visitor is on a secure page? Or, is it secure?

Can someone give me direction on my next step?

It might be as simple as simply calling the page(s) you wish to keep secure with the https:// protocol. So when you link to it or redirect to it (however you are doing) it will be like https://www.domain.com/checkout.php. You might need to put any pages you wish to keep secure in a special directory called https_docs if your hosting is set up that way but most hosts aren't.

If you link pages as https:// , browser automatially displayed lock sign in taskbar. Ask your host the correct format of using https:// . Because hosts has different configurations.
