Short Descriptions
I use the network solutions e-commerce package and saw on their forums that the short description for an item can "help tremendously" as far as SEO.

Personally, I don't like the cluttered look with the short description on items, but I'll obviously sacrifice looks for placement. Anyone know if there's any truth to this, or is the only benefit the additional text content you build?
