Arrow [osCommerce] - Product Name as subdomain, help testing

Originally, an osC forum member asked if it were possible to have categories as subdomains. My initial response was that it was not very likely. However, after more thought and some insomnia I've taken it one step farther than the original request: now the product names are subdomains.

The original request thread here: one subdomamin for each category - osC forum

Now, I've posted a request for the osC vets to review the site for any noticeable bugs but have not gotten any feedback from them since tightening the code.

That thread is here: Each product has its own subdomain - beta - osC forum

Since the osC guys won't give me feedback can I get some gurus from this side of the pond to my dev site and take a look. I want to make sure the subdomains are fully qualified (no illegal characters I missed and need to strip), the page content matches the subdomain, and cart function.

Click around, add a few items to the cart, and mess with the quantities. Remove them from the cart or if you have a few minutes go all the way through the checkout process to test for any other errors. Don't worry...this is a dev site and no orders are processed The only payment options enabled are MO / COD so test away.

As soon as I get some feedback from fellow devs I'll release the code as a contribution.

A quick summary is this:
1. Add wildcard entry to virtual directive (httpd.conf)
2. Add wildcard entry to bind
3. Modify osC code to parse subdomain and present product info

Development Site Link

Much gratitude...all feedback appreciated. BTW, this is a vanilla install of osC with some query optimizations.

An inherent problem with sub-domains is you take away content from the primary website.

While sub-domains seemingly have link popularity value thus PageRank for the primary domain (and subsequently other interlinks sub-domains) this is merely a placebo.

Sub-domains within a shopping cart only offers value if each has a multitude of pages (say 500 pages minimum) for each sub-domian. Otherwise each section is limited by their own depth & breadth of topic... internal link construction is as important as external link developments.
