Need ideas for optimizing Google Base
I know, I am really behind the time. I would appreciate any links to articles/posts on optimizing Google Base data feeds, and what works for people here.
I know there are a lot of other shopping search engines out there and was wondering what is working for other people and what general stategies seem to help. My wife and I own a small online childrens gift shop where the margines are very thin, so I am trying to find ways to best maximize our product exposure without minimizing out margins too much more. Any informatation on what works and what does not would be useful as I turn my attention to trying to optimize my product feeds. Thankyou. |

How to Optimize for Shopping Comparision Sites
Quote:
In general optimizing a product feed is like optimizing a site. - Unique titles and product descriptions/content based on Keyword research. One of main things to remember is you will be rewarded with higher placement on the Shopping Engine by having more information and details than your competitors. This includes pictures. On Google in particular your site's products will show in search if you optimize throughly, and have reviews. Once you have submitted, have past customers review your products All of the FEEDS are slightly different, but try to fill out as much info on them as possible. Also upload your company logo when you can (you are placed above others if you do). I would suggest putting your products on Amazon, then you can leverage their name when appearing on Shopzilla and Bizrate. Here is a list of some others: findgifts.com shopping.com shopzilla.com/bizrate.com (same) pricegrabber.com yahoo shopping Follow this guy: http://www.comparisonengines.com/ and you will learn about some more.
