Help! Site design issue? Sellability?

Help!

If someone with the experience could help me with this issue, with comments, thoughts or ideas, I would GREATLY appreciate it!

This is my problem:

We have a site that has over 1700 products. After examining our traffic logs, we have HORRIBLE conversion rates! We get alot of traffic, but the sales are very slim on that site.

I contribute this problem to a couple factors. Price is one issue. The MAIN issue I believe which is causing traffic to leave ( for various reasons) is how the site is designed in relation to the products we sell and how they are offered. I feel that the site can be designed in a much more efficient manner which would stimulate a sale. You know, if the site is not designed for "easy buying" - they will leave and go elsewhere.

I would like someone with marketing design experience to please look at our site and give me their thoughts! If you don't mind, I would greatly appreciate it.

Send me the URL and I would be happy to look at it. So many things are - need to be taken into consideration time and time again.
I would also be interested in looking at your stats after to see if my assumptions are in line.
