Hackersafe seal to increase conversions by 14%?!?

First off, sorry for posting this in the google optimization section, but there is no "on-page optimization" section (not sure how that happened).


Anyhow, Hackersafe claims their seal increases conversions by 14% on avg. for their users. I find this statistic a little hard to believe and it is quite expensive at $1,890/year. However, even a 1% increase would make it worth it for me...


Has anyone seen concrete proof of their conversions going up from the hackersafe seal?

If you mean the one at hyperconx (dot) com the one I read

A/B studies show that assuring customers of your security will increase sales by up to 18%. That is a huge improvement in sales conversions that you can't afford to ignore.

which to me isn't the same as your interpretation. It doesn't say their system does it - just by ensuring your system is safe and secure (you can use many methods) will increase your sales.

"OVER 500 A/B TESTS SHOW 14% AVERAGE SALES INCREASE" [from using hackersafe]



If it increases my conversions, then it is definately worth it. I am going to try the 30 day free trial and see how it does.



Any other things you can think of to increase visitor confidence? I just joined the BBB online as well.

If they're giving a free trial it's definitely worth a go. Depends what your selling but some sort of guarantee is always good - either full refund if not satisfied (make sure your products are good if you do that one) or a lengthened return policy. Make sure you can easily fulfil your promises as its always better to to promise delivery in five days and easily do it in three - customers are impressed if you are better than you say you will be and very annoyed if you don't do what you say you can.

Many people still aren't that savvy on internet safety but look at prices and promises before anything else.

I signed up today and got a $350 discount for being a BBB Online member. However, with the discount, there is no free trial period. All I need is a .25% increase in conversions and I easily break even, so it is a risk well worth taking.


I will update once I have it up for a bit.

Cool, let me know. I doubt that the seal itself will do anything. But having an SSL cert definatly does transfer into sale increases...
