Ecommerce SEO
I've seen the checklists here for SEO, however they aren't really meant for Ecommerce sites with lots of products.
Can anyone give me some tips and advice on SEO for an ecommerce site?
When you have 100,000 products, what's are the best ways to optimize the product pages? We do as much as we can with making the descriptions relevant with good keywords, but there's a lot of overlap with so many products.
Any thoughts? Anyone know of good resources that talk about SEO for a large Ecommerce site?

I've done a little research into this over the last year.
Here's a few things to consider when looking at shopping cart software:
1. SEO URL's - make sure urls look like www.yoursite-dot-com/product/12/72-inch-flat-screen-monitor.html instead of www.yoursite-dot-com/product.php?productID=12
You'll notice that the product name has been incorporated right into the URL.
2. Ensure that the title and meta for each product page reflects the name of the product. Likewise for category pages.
3. You'll want to be able to add lots of keyword rich text to your product and category pages.
Others here may have more suggestions. Best of luck with your new store!

Sorry, but that's just not possible. You can use tools like Alexa to get an estimate but those numbers are usually not even close to accurate.

Compete.com will give you a fair idea of the traffic. Thats not accurate of course, but still very useful.
