Angry E Commerce Dev. Problem

Hello, I am new to this forum and have a basic question related to ecommerce development. I have a customer who wants to sell products online. I have built a introduction page that has a link to a online store I am creating using code9software (Fastecart). My customer wants to pay me in a % of online sales instead of a up front development fee. I need a method for determining when a order was placed and what item was purchased. If I code this <input type="hidden" name="email" value="myemail@hotmail.com"> within the checkout page code <form> tags, would I receive a email with the order specifics? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. HPU

I don't know the answer to your question... but how is your "customer" going to be notified of the sales? I would consider you a "partner" in this venture if you are not doing work-for-hire. In that case you should have access to the same stats as she does.

How does this system perform in the search engines? That would be a big concern to me if I was putting my time into it. Also do you have plans to get lots of links into this store. If not your efforts will be down the tubes. There are lots of online stores that only make money for hosting and ecommerce companies and not a dime for the owners. Plan and research or your time is wasted.

On the other hand if you do your work well, get lots of links and score high rankings your partner will regret offering you a percentage for sure.

Usually, an email is sent when an order is placed. More than likely, you can just add your email address to the list of email addresses to be notified.

This doesn't need extra programming. You just use alias as email address for order notification. And you can add as many email addresses to that alias as you want. But don't do this unless you're a partner.

Most shopping cart software that has some sort of reporting. So as long as you have unremovable administrative access so that you can view the reports, you can just check it every month and get a percentage.

It's probably easier than keeping all the order emails, adding them up, and getting the percentage.
