Decline in sales over the last two weeks

Anybody else seeing this trend ?

We have noticed a sharp decline in sales over the last couple of weeks and I think it mostly has to do with the great weather around the US, however I have to wonder because our traffic is staying pretty much on track.

With the traffic staying on track, it would logically bring me to the conclusion that potential buyers just are not buying, which would not be a good thing, especially when it happened so suddenly.

My other thought is that we have gotten a boost in exposure somewhere and this exposure is bring in traffic that just doesn't convert well, such that our traffic looks stable, but the buying potential has changed.

So what trend are others seeing ?

Have you gone through this time of the year before? Is it possible that your product/service is cyclical whereby the summer months may be lighter as far as sales, e.g., students, cooler weather, etc.?

Actually we have gone through this time of year several years, unfortunately the only sales trend we can accuratly indentify each year is at x-mas time. If I took sales for each year and made a graph with 52 weeks, ploted each week and laid over the top of each other, the only correlation between them would come is leading up to x-mas. There is just no ability to compare the years against each other.

Personally, I think that is odd and not something I would have expected given our type of product. I would expect the summer months to be slow, but that just doesn't seem to prove true looking at the sales graphs which right now I plot by week, bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly. It's a lot of work, but I'm hoping that it will at somepoint lead to a trend or something that would be a sales indicator. Sadly, so far though it hasn't yield any indentifable indicators.

Maybe I should try comparing it to the sales volume of viagra, anyone know where I can get weekly sales figures for viagra ? LOL

When my sales:traffic ratio changes it means one of three things....

a) my position in the SERPs has changed

b) one of my competitors has a better price

c) my site is appearing in new SERPs with less/better qualified traffic

It is happening to me too,

Sales have droped in the last two weeks.

Was wondering if there is a tool that gather information from websites about thier sales and show it on a graph...

Led, we have noticed a sharp decline in sales this month. The last three months set records for sales on some of our commerce sites. Not sure what the reason is, but sales are way off across the board this month. SERPs are good if not better on virtually all of the sites, and for the big ones, we don't really have any competition to speak of so there is not a pricing issue.

I sure hope it is not an indication of what is coming in the future.

It might also have to do with Ronald Reagon, Iraq, presidential election coming up...

When there are changes that are about to be made or are being made nationally, some people are hesitant to spending money.

Compared to last month, sales went down some. Compared to last year, we are doing really great.

I just hope everything settles out for a good holiday season.

Noticed the same here, we dont have enough data to recognize trends yet.
