The number of daily unique visits to my webiste reported by clicktracks is markedly different that what is showing up in my weblogs provided by my hosting service. Is ClickTracks says 180 the weblogs say 300. Who do I believe and why?

If you're using the hosted version of ClickTracks, then it makes sense. If someone has javascript turned off, they won't be reported a visitor.
The only way to get good numbers from stats tracking programs is to host them on your own servers so they can read your log files. S |

Thanks, I appreciate that. How do I get the program to sit on my webhost's server? I don't host my website from my own computer.... |

It doesn't have to actually sit on the same server as your websites. We have 28 web servers and two "worker bee" (WB) servers. We installed ClickTracks on one of our WB servers and it processes logs 24/7 from all the others. You just have to have access to the raw log files.
You have to have the pro version, (I think) -- which if I remember correctly, was in the $4-5k range. S |

Right now I have the hosted analyzer version. I'm not technically savvy enought to set up worker bee servers just to process weblogs....I also can't afford a 4k to 5k tracking solution at this time. Will I just have to stick it out with a few inconsistencies until I can do better? |
