sounds like you should go with oscommerce, many more options to use. be careful though, you'll become an oscommerce junkie before you realise it.

miva is good, but more for simple smaller stores.

Hello everyone! I am new to this forum. I found it by google search as was interested in shopping cart facility for my website. What exactly attracted my attention was Oscommerce. And I am interested in anyone’s experience of using it. Thanks.

Hello, well as the thread starter on this subject, i have tried OS, and i liked it, yet the learning curve seems longer.....So I tried Miva, been messing around with it today, and its ok. Its a tough decision fro me, miva has things i like as features go, and os has ones that miva dont have, and vice a versa.....

Like i want country shiping value differences, apparently miva dont have it, $15.00 plugin it can, also it diesnt have a coupon manager, $29.99 plugin to get that, so its missing soem stuff i want......... Yet the learnign curve seems less on it. Im pretty good with web stuff, yet my partner isnt, so he needed something that wasnt hard to learn.. Thats not saying there isnt a learning curve, it just appears to be less of one with Miva.

So as of now im gonna mess with it another day or so, then make up my mind...The cart was part of my hosting plan, so its no biggie, to switch to Os, so thats good... Yet, i wont start to build till I have more of clear picture on the path im gonna take.

As for me, I am interested in Oscommerce as I am going to use ikobo service for accepting payments. And I was informed ikobo could be easily integrated with Oscommerce shopping cart. Both ikobo and Oscommerce offer free service so this variant is most suitable for me.

I looked at both of those and went with ultracart. Not expensive, easy easy to use, you can set it up with a form so that your links don't blast PR into the cart, cross selling in the checkout (has increased my average order size by $15), lots of reporting, accounting and back office options. I understand my sales a lot better now.

Sorry I am new to this sphere and can’t understand what service are you talking about. Will you tell more details, please? I am interested in the shopping cart that can be easily integrated with ikobo. May be I am mistaken but this service seems to be most suitable for me due to it’ low fees and a possibility to withdraw funds with ikard anytime I wish.
