Miva Merchant is totally search engine friendly. We've tried many shopping carts but have been a Miva Merchant partner for 9 years. I can't post a link yet but you can go to webwest dot net and click on Miva merchant Ecommerce Stores to learn more.

You can use .htaccess modrewrite to change the special characters in your cart to be SE friendly. (On Apache)

I use Fortune3 for all my ecommerce projects, and you can also use a blog and use paypal or google checkout to sell items that way.

Yes. It's very nice and simple to use. However, there isnt much pre-made skins sold elsewhere.

No best, only depends.

To get the strongest functionality and flexibility, use magento, but drawback is obvious, too heavy, too complicated, with zero customer service.

To get both feature-rich and easy to use with good customer service, use hosted miiduu.com.

To get a simple store with good design, use shopify, though slightly expensive due to transaction fee.

hello,

There are some common disadvantages of using magento its high Development Learning Curve due to which it takes a long time to get used to the magento codebase. slow with over 6,000 files and lots of processing makes magento a slow application in terms of server side processing. high Popularity means many attempts to exploit vulnerabilities by hackers. high maintenance which is time and money consuming. Its better to use vplanet commerce store they have the best functionality and there API is also very handy.

Thanks
